Please submit your Tax Credit Donation to Cerritos by Dec. 31!
Did you know that under state law, Arizona taxpayers can receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit for donations made to a public school for extracurricular activities or character education programs? Contributions made to public schools for these purposes can then be deducted directly from state income taxes through a tax credit. Contributions must be postmarked by December 31 of the year to which you want to apply your tax credit. A maximum of $200 can be deducted per individual tax return, or a maximum of $400 for couples filing a joint return. Tax credit donations made to Cerritos help students attend extracurricular activities like athletics; art and music programs; character education; and field trips. The Cerritos Site Council meets on a regular basis to oversee how the contributions are utilized at the school site.
To make a Tax Credit Donation to Cerritos, you can either:
* Donate Online at http://www.kyrene.org/Page/1467 (Be sure to select “Cerritos Elementary” from the dropdown list.) Online donation receipts can be obtained online through PayPal.
* Donate In-Person. Please download and print the Tax Donation Form. The completed form and check or money order can be dropped off at the Cerritos Office through Friday, December 20 or at the Kyrene District Office through Tuesday, December 31. Please Note: The Kyrene District Office will have modified office hours during Winter Break. Call (480) 541-1000 for more information.
* Donate By Mail. Download and print the Tax Donation Form. The completed form and check or money order can mailed to: Tax Credits, Kyrene School District #28, 8700 S. Kyrene Road, Tempe, AZ 85284-2197. Contributions must be postmarked by December 31.
Who can donate? Any individual who pays Arizona State income tax may be eligible to make a public education tax credit donation. Beyond making your own tax credit donation, please encourage your in-state grandparents, aunts/uncles, neighbors, and friends to take advantage of this provision in our state law as well!
