Cerritos has a long tradition of giving back to the community. With this in mind, there are over 400 families in the Kyrene School District that are homeless and in need.
As part of our “Cerritos Pumpkin and Costume Walk” event this year, we will be placing large bins in the school office as well as in the main hallway from now through the date of the event, and at the entrance to our event on October 24. These bins will be used to collect three categories of items:
- Non-perishable food items (most needed food items include protein items such as canned meat tuna and peanut butter, pasta, cereal, rice, dried beans, spaghetti sauce, and canned fruits and vegetables)
- Hygiene items (most needed hygiene items include shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, toilet paper, feminine products, laundry soap, diapers, baby wipes, new socks and underwear)
- Halloween costumes (new or gently used)
All donations received will be donated to the Kyrene Family Resource Center families in need. For more information about the Kyrene Family Resource Center, please visit http://kyrenefoundation.org/programs/family-resource-center/.
We look forward to seeing you at our Cerritos Pumpkin and Costume Walk event on Friday, October 24 from 5:00-7:00pm! Thank you in advance for making a difference in our community!
