We Listened to You!

Based upon parent feedback, several years ago, we replaced product based fundraisers (i.e, entertainment books, cookie dough, gift wrap, etc.) with our “Be a Beacon” drive. This allows 100% of your money to directly benefit our school! This year, our goal is to raise $20,000.

Your Support Matters

Did you know the PTO spends over $100 per student each year? Last year the PTO provided: long-term reading resources, classroom grants & supplies, educational materials, health & safety items as well as additional support for the school garden and specials classes. We also host four community-building events during the school year. Your support makes this all possible!

Ways to Donate:

We encourage everyone to participate at the level that is most appropriate for their situation. Any amount—small or large—helps!

  • Donate by Cash or Check – Please return your donation to the school with a Donation Form so we can supply you with a receipt and reward your student(s).
  • Donate by Credit Card – You can either donate online (link in left hand column), via the donation form, at the PTO table at Curriculum Night and at the Back to School Bash at Peter Piper Pizza.
  • Check with your company’s Human Resource Department to see if they participate in a matching program.

Putting the “Fun” in Fundraiser

Individual Prizes: Every student who brings in a donation that is $10.00 or higher will receive an “I Donated” decal. If your child displays their decal, they’re eligible to win:

Every Tuesday & Thursday:  (3) $5 gift cards (Yoasis, Bahama Bucks or Andy’s Custard)
Every Wednesday:  (1) Yearbook, (1) Spirit-wear shirt and (1) Homework Pass 

Raffle Baskets:  Every Friday during ‘Be a Beacon” a GRAND prize raffle basket and two additional baskets will be raffled. Every donation is entered into the raffle. However, for every $10 you donate, you get one raffle ticket automatically entered into the raffle basket drawing. So a $200 donation = 20 entries!

FAQ’s

Does my donation count towards the Arizona Tax Credit?

No, this donation is not associated with the Arizona Tax Credit. However, the PTO is a 501(c)3 organization, and the amount you donate may be deductible on your taxes. We will give you a receipt for your donation.

Will we have other fundraisers?

We will still have our Fall and Spring Book Fairs, which benefit the Library. We will continue with Family Dinner Nights, and passive fundraisers such as Fry’s and Amazon Smile.

My employer offers a matching program for charitable donations. How can I get my donation matched?

It depends. If all they require is a receipt of your donation, we will provide that. If they require Cerritos PTO to be a part of their matching program, you can contact us for the necessary information. (It is typically a pretty simple process, and employer matches can really make a HUGE impact on this fundraising drive!)

Where did we get the funds for the Raffle Baskets?

They have been graciously donated!
